Cadaveric Foot & Ankle
In another first for our cadaveric training, we ran our first Cadaveric Foot and Ankle course in 2024. Course organisers Abdullah Gabr and Azeem Thahir worked with Course Lead Mr Tim Williams, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at ESNEFT to provide a full day of cadaveric dissection and an evening of lectures that were themed to help FRCS exams.
Day one ran from 6pm to 8pm and included lectures on Posterior malleolus and its foibles and case discussions that were FRCS-themed. Day Two consisted of complex approaches to ankle fractures, tendon transfers of the ankle, fasciotomies of lower limb, below knee amputation and an open session in the afternoon.
Feedback for the course was fantastic:
“Never had the time to spend on cadavers as much as I did this time. Having a faculty member on each table was quite helpful and Mr Williams is one of the best tutors I’ve seen!” Delegate Quote 2024
A huge thank you to our course sponsors Arthrex and Stryker.
