Cadaveric Vascular Lower Limb

We were awarded an HTA licence at the ICENI Centre, Colchester Hospital in 2023 and we ran our first cadaveric course from our skills lab in December.  Ten vascular trainees joined us for a full day’s cadaveric dissection and Mentice simulator training.

They practiced femoral, tibial and pedal arterial approaches, tunnelling and using a Valvulotome, tibial and pedal cadaveric anastomoses, fasciotomy and amputations during their cadaveric dissection sessions.  There was also a Mentice session, which included the simulation of a lower limb angioplasty.
