Ultrasound for Acute Medicine & Emergencies FAMUS Course

Straight out of the gates for 2025 and we had a brand new course for the ICENI Centre in our Ultrasound for Acute Medicine and Emergencies Course.  Led by faculty from Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound (FAMUS), which is the point of care ultrasound standard created for Acute Medicine physicians to aid in the management of acutely unwell adult patients.

The day was a huge success with short lectures followed by practical ultrasound sessions.  Topics covered included:

• Physics and fundamentals of ultrasound and instrumentation
• Thoracic, abdominal, DVT and vascular access ultrasound sessions in small groups
• Lung and abdominal pathologies
• Advanced small group scanning sessions in thoracic, abdominal, DVT and vascular access ultrasound.
